A gift that can change a life.

Ian, the founder of Ten Foundations, approached Yellow Design, asking us to take a look at his brand and asked for a refresh as Ten Foundations was approaching its tenth year.

They had four variations of the Ten Foundations logo, all in use simultaneously. It was difficult to see which logo was the latest one. His daughter Sarah has been involved along the way in creating whiteboard-style illustrations. We wanted to bring this into the rebrand.

Throughout our research, we came across a Christmas card Sarah designed one year, and it said: “A gift that can change a life” with an illustration of a sewing machine. We wanted to use this as the core message of the brand.

We developed a story behind the gift of a sewing machine. It was based on the quote: “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.”

I’m so proud to have worked on a project which supports this cause. Ian has been a pleasure to work with, and I look forward to seeing how he pushes the brand for the next ten years.
